Exercise For Life, Not Weight Loss or Appearance

What if I told you that there were other reasons we should and need to exercises besides losing weight or getting beach body ready? Exercise has so many benefits that are often overlooked because of the weight loss focused society we live in. These are three reasons you should make daily exercise a priority as soon as possible!

For starters, exercise combats many different health conditions and diseases. It can help manage or prevent stroke, metabolic syndrome, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, depression, anxiety, arthritis, and much more.

Exercise also improves your mood!! Getting in daily movement stimulates and releases chemicals in our brains that can promote happiness! It will leave you feeling less anxious and more relaxed. As exercise becomes more of a regular thing in your everyday life it will boost confidence and your self-esteem. Stressful day at work? Feeling down? Get up and get in even a little bit of physical activity, and I promise you won’t regret it.

If those two weren’t enough to convince you to get up and get active this third one will. It may sound strange but exercise will actually boost your energy levels! How can this be true? Exercise strengthens your muscles and increases your endurance. Physical activity will help your cardiovascular system work more efficiently. As these things improve you will have more energy to tackle the day!

Losing weight can be a good thing, but it should not be the only thing that gets you out the door or up and moving each day. That is more of a short term goal, and can be challenging to obtain. When one only focuses on losing weight they will be more likely to not continue for very long, especially if they do not see results right away. So what are you waiting for? Let’s get after it today!!
