Exercising Through the Holidays

The holidays can be a hard time to stay active and keep on track towards your goals. This time of year things start to get very busy, and it can feel as if it is impossible to get a workout or any kind of physical activity in your schedule. However, this may be one of the most important times of year to make sure you are staying active. Staying active can help reduce stress, which we all need during this time of year. Regular exercise can also help aide any possible holiday weight gain, seasonal depression, and provide structure.

Make exercise a priority and make the time to get some type of physical activity incorporated in your day.

Whether you go to the gym, go for a walk, or do a few exercises while cooking, it can make a difference. Doing jumping jacks or squats during commercials or leg lifts while cooking counts too. If you miss a day that’s okay, get back on track the very next day. Don’t let one off day lead to weeks and months. Sticking to a routine or doing a few exercises each day will help you stay on track throughout the holiday season. Stopping all together makes it much harder to start up again. It may not seem possible to find the time in the moment, but I promise that if you keep exercising at the top of your to do list there will be many benefits.

Below are two workouts you can do this holiday season. One is for the gym while the other is a body weight workout. Try them out and let us know what you think!
